Patient education self-management programs are delivered to people with long term conditions as an aid for effective self-management in order to maintain or enhance their health and well-being as well as their clinical, emotional and social outcomes. Cancer as an issue has a social dimension. Cancer irradiation needs community participation. Hence, the community education is the key.
Dr. Hitendra Patil has been involved in carrying out the patient education program for awareness, screening, early detection camp, rehabilitation camps etc. Dr Patil maintains data of all his post op, OPD patients or post chemo or radiation patients. They are regularly updated with small scientific materials that are lucidly explained using social media for better health management & treatment outcomes. Thus, each patient helps other one by being a good example and in turn the patient, family, society carry the torch of “anticancer campaign” ahead.
